A graduate of Duke University, North Carolina, one of North America’s top law schools, Dr. Gail H. Forsythe practices employment, family, real estate, human rights and mediation law. She has mediated several hundred personal injury, family, child protection, harassment, construction and estate claims; with a much higher than average settlement rate. Gail’s practice goal is to assist clients to achieve peace of mind and a more secure legal future.
Gail joined the Alberta Bar in 1987, and the BC Bar in 1993. She holds three law degrees: a Suis Juris Doctorate (Duke 2002), LL.M. (Duke 1992) and LL.B. (University of Alberta 1986); plus a B. Ed. (U of A 1981). She was certified by the Attorney-Mediator’s Institute, Texas (1992).
Gail was the first Ombudsperson in North America to assist law firm employers and employees to resolve workplace discrimination complaints. Her experience in employment, harassment investigation, family, child protection, personal injury and real estate gives clients a range of practical problem solving skills. She taught Legal Ethics while Assistant Dean, Faculty of Law, U of A and Mediation Law at UBC. She is a popular writer and speaker for organizations who value employee retention strategies, policy design, win/win solutions and diversity.
Gail’s favourite leisure activity is judging international championship dog shows. Her dogs are World Winners and Champions in 10 countries. At Aarbo Fuldauer LLP, one of her gentle dogs might be in the office; helping a client feel more at ease, while discussing legal options.
